Game night

01.11.2017

On Friday we had a board game night with our Tanzanian guests. We played games and we also gave the guests the chance to taste traditional Finnish Christmas treats: glögi and Christmas pastries (joulutorttu).

We had four games with us: Scrabble card game, Yatzy, Trivial Pursuit and Piirrä ja Arvaa (Draw and guess). All the games were in Finnish so we had to use imagination so we could play them.

Trivial Pursuit was one of the two games we played. The other one was Piirrä ja Arvaa. In Trivial Pursuit there was a very good question about the oldest city in Finland. Our Tanzanian guests knew the answer: Turku is the oldest city in Finland!

The intense game playing can make you feel a bit hungry, but luckily the table was filled with delicious food and snacks.

We also started Christmas a bit early. ? We ended up baking Finnish Christmas pastries, joulutortut, and giving our guests a chance to try glögi, a traditional Finnish Christmas drink (non-alcoholic mulled wine).
